1st Meeting of Olympia's Sister-Cities
Με την ευκαιρία της συνάντησης των αδελφοποιημένων με την Ολυμπία πόλεων για την Τελετή Αφής της Ολυμπιακής Φλόγας για τους ΧΧΧΙΙ Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες Τόκυο 2020 και με δεδομένο ότι τα σημαντικά αθλητικά και πολιτιστικά γεγονότα δημιουργούν ευκαιρίες για μάθηση, κοινή χρήση και σύνδεση, πραγματοποιήθηκε η 1η Συνάντηση Αδελφοποιημένων με την Ολυμπία Πόλεων, την Τετάρτη 11 Μαρτίου 2020 στο Δημαρχείο της πόλης.
As the Olympic Games produce, even from their preparation, a unique legacy, twinned cities are called upon to preserve it and at the same time pass it on to the younger generations through initiatives.
The discussions were based on the testimonies of the Mayors and representatives of the cities twinned with Olympia, who combine their sustainability and heritage with major sporting events.
At a time when cities are facing increasingly complex challenges, city networks are consider a great asset as they allow city representatives to share their commitments and learn from each other. This meeting was an opportunity to meet and discuss the long-term role of twin cities, towards their citizens and communities.
